Questions
Can I use MIT-licensed code in a commercial product?
Yes. MIT allows commercial and proprietary use. You must keep the copyright and permission notice with the code.
What does copyleft mean for my code?
Strong copyleft (GPL) means distributing a product that includes the code puts the whole product under the GPL. Network copyleft (AGPL) extends that to software you only run as a service. Weak copyleft (MPL, LGPL) limits the obligation to the licensed files or library.
What if a repo has no licence?
Then all rights are reserved by the author. You can read the code, but you may not copy, modify or ship it without permission.
