# Windsurf

Windsurf's Cascade agent reads remote MCP servers from `mcp_config.json`. Remote servers use `serverUrl` (or `url`) rather than a command.

## Automatic

```sh
npx @justclaw-it/cli init
```

The CLI writes `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`.

## Manual

Add to `~/.codeium/windsurf/mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "justclaw-it": {
      "serverUrl": "https://justclaw.it.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>" }
    }
  }
}
```

Replace `<YOUR_API_KEY>` with your key.

> Windsurf's documentation now lives under the Devin Desktop name. For its legacy Cascade agent the file is `~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json` on macOS and Linux and `%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json` on Windows; the same entry works there. Its newer Devin Local agent configures MCP servers in the Devin CLI config files instead; see Devin's MCP documentation. The config supports `${env:VAR_NAME}` in `headers`, so you can write `"Authorization": "Bearer ${env:JUSTCLAW_IT_API_KEY}"` instead of the literal key.

## Check it

Open the MCP section of the Cascade panel and refresh: `justclaw-it` should list its tools. Cascade can use at most 100 tools across all servers at once; JustClaw-It adds 8.

## Try it
